Black Avenue Muzik’s vocal sensation Kobla Jnr just dropped the most beautiful video to close the 2018 musical year in Ghana.
The very talented singer makes this his second official debut under the label and the song is simply magical. “Maadwoa” as he calls it is a well crafted love song that takes listeners on a sweet vibe and makes them yearn for more of Kobla’s outstanding voice. The music video is exceptional with romantic scenes featuring Kobla Jnr and his alleged girlfriend “Jjorm”. The two are captured kissing several times in the video as well.
Song was produced by Keezy & Ugly Beats. Video directed by KTO
It has been a very difficult 2018 for avid punters like myself. The massive investments by sporting clubs appears to be bridging the competitive canyon that used to exist between the powerhouses and the rest.
This and many more interventions in the game has made sports betting a difficult venture for punters. It was a mixture of disbelief, jealousy and admiration for that lucky man called Theophilus Morgan, when I heard, that he had found a way to break the betting bank of GHC 57,000,000 via Safaribet.
I spent a half of my day dreaming about how I can make use of this kind of money had it been my winnings. I have followed with keen interest since then, waiting for confirmation by Safaribet on this record breaking feat. I reached out to some of the sources that first broke the news, only to find out that the guy is battling Safaribet for his winnings, Oh No.
Further investigations have revealed that the issue has been forwarded by Morgan to be addressed by the Gaming Commission of Ghana.
The Gaming Commission needs to realise that Ghanaians are following this issue with keen interest. It is indeed a huge test to the resolve of the gaming commission to assuage the fears of Ghanaians, that the laws of this country favours the rich and that our state institutions are so weak that they will capitulate to the whims and caprices of foreign businesses against the ordinary Ghanaian.
I have faith in the ability of the Gaming Commission to arrive at a truthful
verdict on this issue. Safaribet is one of the biggest betting companies in the country, with sophisticated systems in place to ensure that the integrity and interests of both parties are protected. This case has the potential to make or break the market for this company. Having seen proof of the bet slips and winnings of Mr. Morgan on social media and his version of the issue, I find it disturbing that Safaribet will keep mute on this issue months after it broke out. The questions I keep asking myself are;
1 . Have Safaribet ever sent a complaint or warning to Morgan with regards to the latter flouting the T&Cs?
2. Have Safaribet ever refunded the excesses of the amount staked by Morgan after reaching the Maximum permissible?
3. Why have Safaribet allowed Morgan to stake slips above the maximum payout allowed online continuously for the past 2 years?
4. Assuming there was some technical glitch in the system, why hasn’t it been rectified for the past 2 years?
5. What informed Safaribet’s decision to delete 21 9 out of the supposedly 220 bet slips placed instead of voiding them and why did they have to lock his account to do that?
6. Why did Safaribet release a statement on their platform that the matter had been referred to the Gaming Commission at the time when no such action had been taken, perhaps to deliberately divert the attention of its customers from their intended dishonesty?
I do not want to believe that Safaribet wants to deny the young man his winnings after they have profited from the same issues being raised. My advice is that they should sit down with Morgan and his representatives and prepare a payment plan to pay and sort their system issues out.
The VAR of the bet game in Ghana (The Gaming Commission) must ensure that the decision of the committee firmly raises the hopes of punters across the country in their ability to protect our collective interests. Merry Christmas Punters!!!
Fati, a Liberian, but a Ghanaian currently resident singer and performer who is signed to Many Music records yesterday, Friday, 7th December 2018 at a private event which took place at the Soho Restaurant afforded pressmen the privilege of exclusively listening to her debut single “Love”.

Wa Naa, Paramount Chief of Wa, gave Samini a ribald welcome this week at his palace on Tuesday, December 11, exactly 11 days to Samini’s 7th Album “Untamed” release.
It’s been 8 years since Samini visited home, Wa. And for the past years, Samini’s fans and natives have longed for his homecoming and concert; but due to very tight schedules and ‘unfavorable’ calendars, Samini couldn’t make a return home until recently.
In the midst of a mammoth crowd that thronged the Wa Naa’s palace, Samini reaffirmed his connect with the indigenes and his dagaati roots.
Samini after paying a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief was enstooled as Pibilii Naa, a local parlance which connotes “King of The Little Rocks”. The name “Pibilii” was derived from one of the native villages in lieu with Samini’s clan lineage, and as well a Chief among the well-meaning and industrious youths of Wa, his hometown. Pibilii is a small town in Mangu, where Samini’s Father comes from. Mangu is a town in Wa.
Waa Naa however made a plea to Samini to use his platform and network to support upcoming music talents from Wa and Upper West Region so as thy could reach mainstream and global standards (as him). The Paramount Chief pledged to give Samini a land for a studio project that would facilitate the churning of musicians from Wa and its environs.
Samini in a grandeur was clothed in a new Royal 3-piece traditional smock, known as “fugu” with matchup royal shoes made from scarce leather. He was blessed by the Chief and made to ride on a horse from the Paramount Chief’s palace.
Ahead of his 7th studio album launch, titled “Untamed”, Samini shot a music video for the lead single (an intro) in the Chief’s Palace, to accentuate his belongingness and direct connect with his roots.
Also set for December 22 is his annual festival, Saminifest. Aside Saminifest, the international music icon, Samini, also announced a homecoming music festival in Wa henceforth, annually, to keep the connect with his fellow Wa indigenes. Samini is now managed by Africa 1 Media, based in Accra, Ghana’s capital city.

Ghanaian celebrity publicist and tourist, Jonathan Nii Laryea, known in showbiz circles as Jonilar has added his voice to the recent Spotify performance statistics of musicians. Speaking on Zylofon FM on Thursday morning he noted that online marketing platforms offer musicians in the new era a gear opportunity to sell their songs.
Judging from the impressive figures made by Ghanaian musicians in Spotify’s end of year stats, he said if musicians make it a deliberate effort to promote their songs on these stores, the music industry will be better. He therefore urged Ghanaian musicians to urge their fans to stream their songs.
“Ghanaian musicians should encourage their fans to stream songs on the various online stores” Answering questions on why not all Ghanaians artiste are making enough money from streaming, he explained that, most artiste do not have digital managers to map up marketing and promotional strategies, some do not also have account profiles so their contents are not organized online. Jonilar suggested that going forward, musicians should focus on promoting their digital links, support it with good music videos, urge fans to create playlist and also engage the services of digital managers to properly manage their accounts.
He also advised that the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) should team up with the appropriate partners in the future, build a catalogue and eventually request to become an aggregator in Ghana.
In doing that taxes will be pay locally, government will also have a clear picture of how to support the industry as well.
“I have been an artiste for 21 years. I have done 9 studio albums and I released that my impact is not fully felt here in Ghana. I have done a lot of things – great shows, great performances, great music. But until I’m scratching my people where it’s itching he most, I’m not at my best. So I decided to record an album which in the short run will inspire national consumer behaviour,” he said.
When asked if Ghanaians were oblivious of who they are Okyeame replied: “even if some people know about the little intricacies of our cultural uniqueness, it is important to bring it into pop culture.”
Okyeame Kwame noted that his ‘Made in Ghana’ project is aimed at bringing about unity in diversity – so that even though different ethnic groups in Ghana are urged to keep abreast of their individual cultures, people from other groups would as well be encouraged to taste different cultures.
Okyeame Kwame whose ‘Made in Ghana’ song is already topping charts, is preparing to release the ‘Made in Ghana’ album early next year (2019).
The Made in Ghana Ambassador will be releasing a 10-track album which represents each of the 10 regions of Ghana.
Some musicians on the album are Kidi, Kuami Eugene, Wutah Afriyie, Kurl Songx, Kwan Pa and Feli Nuna.
Others are Wiyaala, Atongo Simba, Wulomei and Fancy Gadam.
